About Us

Film Warwickshire is the initiative by the UK's leading location promotion and management company, SPACE‑2 (www.space-2.com), to provide support and co‑ordination services as well as offer a wide range of locations for use by the film, TV and photographic industry.

Initiated by Managing Director, Mark Hughes‑Webb, who grew up in the county, Film Warwickshire aims to provide practical support to media producers who wish to use Warwickshire's diverse portfolio of locations and landscapes. Our main focus is on promoting public and privately owned/managed locations in the county and then providing an administration and onsite management service to the property owners and managers to minimise the perceived hassle and risks associated with activities such as filming and photography in order to attract and encourage more media production to take place across the county.

With strategic partnerships in place with Warwickshire-based companies and organisations such as Shakespeare’s England and a growing team of researchers and co‑ordinators, Film Warwickshire should be the first point of contact for any production looking to film in the county. We also provide location scouting services and recommend the best supplier for any production services required. With an ever growing image library showcasing the best and most interesting locations in the county, Film Warwickshire provides prompt responses to enquiries and the crucial availability and costings required for any media project from feature films to photoshoots and every production in between. We can also offer practical production offices as well as temporary set-build spaces and even crew accommodation at preferential rates.

Film Warwickshire and SPACE‑2 are committed to improving the opportunities for both work experience and freelance work on productions based in the county and are happy to discuss and/or receive CVs/requests by email.

Warwickshire

Since the birth of William Shakespeare, Warwickshire has been at the heart of great story‑telling. Film Warwickshire's role is to encourage film and television producers to emulate the success of the Royal Shakespeare Company on stage and deliver exciting projects by shooting on location in this most diverse and inspiring county.

Warwickshire borders the counties of Gloucestershire, Staffordshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Leicestershire and the unitary authorities of Birmingham, Solihull and Coventry. The five districts of North Warwickshire, Nuneaton & Bedworth, Rugby, Warwick and Stratford-on-Avon, form the area covered by Warwickshire County Council. South Warwickshire is just 65 miles from Pinewood Studios and around 80 mins drive straight up the M40 motorway which provides convenient access to many of the county's most important locations.

Warwickshire is also home to the recently opened British Film Institute's National Film Archive (pictured above), cementing its position as a county establishing a media legacy. Furthermore, with a thriving tourism industry, the county has some of the best accommodation available and the scale to support feature film crews.

Our Team

Mark Hughes-Webb

Mark founded creative property consultancy, SPACE‑2 Consulting in 2006 following 2 1/2 years in‑house with the UK's largest property company, Land Securities Plc. With a focus on promoting and managing locations for short‑term and short-notice use, SPACE‑2 has developed a market-leading service to enable media production companies to film and base themselves at sites across the country.

Following the successful launch of a county-wide locations initiative for Surrey and in order to better service a growing regional SPACE-2 business, Mark moved back to his home county of Warwickshire in November 2011 with the aim of making the Midlands and in particular Warwickshire a more sustainable and viable production base for national and international productions.

He launched Film Warwickshire in January 2012 and acts as the main point of contact for all property clients/location owners in the county as well as developing the business development and promotional strategy for the service.

Chris Wilkinson

Chris joined the Film Warwickshire team in March 2016 to focus on expanding and promoting our diverse location portfolio. With a passion and talent for creative photography, Chris visits all our locations to capture every aspect that each location or space can offer whilst assessing the potential shoots that could be accommodated at each location. Having previously worked for over 10 years in logistics management and planning for Network Rail, Chris also has a strong commercial background dealing with complex projects, multiple contractors and technical teams making him the ideal candidate to deal with crews of all sizes. Even when employed in his last job, Chris’ talent as a photographer was recognised and he won the “Network Rail Star Photographer 2013” award with a stunning aerial shot of Waterloo station!

Outside of work, Chris has applied his practical and creative skills to a complete home renovation project. With two young children, he is also very much a family man and enjoys taking his family on regular weekend outings in and around Warwickshire – and is, of course, never seen without his camera!
