Since the birth of William Shakespeare, Warwickshire has been at the heart of great story‑telling. Film Warwickshire's role is to encourage film and television producers to emulate the success of the Royal Shakespeare Company on stage and deliver exciting projects by shooting on location in this most diverse and inspiring county.
Warwickshire borders the counties of Gloucestershire, Staffordshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Leicestershire and the unitary authorities of Birmingham, Solihull and Coventry. The five districts of North Warwickshire, Nuneaton & Bedworth, Rugby, Warwick and Stratford-on-Avon, form the area covered by Warwickshire County Council.
South Warwickshire is just 65 miles from Pinewood Studios and around 80 mins drive straight up the M40 motorway which provides convenient access to many of the county's most important locations.
Warwickshire is also home to the recently opened British Film Institute's National Film Archive (pictured above), cementing its position as a county establishing a media legacy.
Furthermore, with a thriving tourism industry, the county has some of the best accommodation available and the scale to support feature film crews.
